Argus Creates New Level of Care at Rosemount Centre

Scottish Independent care Group, Argus, has created a new dimension in residential care with the completion of the new Rosemount Golf Care Centre, and associated “close care” residential properties.

Situated on Rosemount’s Golf Course Road, and within walking distance of the world famous Rosemount and Lansdowne championship golf courses, Rosemount Care Centre has been developed to provide first class accommodation not seen before in Scotland.

The Care Centre features a residents’ bar; a therapeutic swimming pool, library and many more features not usually seen in a care context.

The building itself is designed in a very contemporary and modern style, not at all what is usually expected in a care home. Bedrooms have private balconies; en-suite shower rooms; flat screen televisions and private internet and telephone connectivity.

Day rooms and other public areas are decorated in a contemporary fashion, and are all fully air-conditioned.

There is a wine cellar of distinction selected by a top class sommelier, and cuisine is varied and carefully selected.

A private dining room is available for residents to invite guests or to hold private functions.

Rosemount is no ordinary care home, and is fashioned to be more of a “care hotel”.

A spokesman for Argus stated that the client group was the discerning retired lady or gentleman, perhaps in need of some care intervention, whilst still being able to enjoy the finer things in life, such as golf at the local Rosemount courses.

Although not a “nursing home”, but a residential care centre, there will be fully qualified staff on the premises ... just in case nursing intervention is required.

The centre will cater for those who wish to maintain dignity and privacy and at the same time becoming as involved in the life of the “care hotel” as they wish.

Argus will be hosting open days on October 8 – 10 and the home will open towards the end of October.

Argus is currently recruiting all categories of staff for the care centre. Qualified nursing staff; caring staff with SVQ qualifications; housekeeping; chef and kitchen porters; maintenance and administration staff.

Alongside the care centre, there will be built five “close care” homes, and these will be available for sale.

The term “close care” describes a home, which incorporates a number of specialist systems providing safety, security and dignity of the owner whilst allowing them to remain in their own home. The properties are connected to the care centre by a voice-call system, ensuring that assistance is available when needed.

Other systems limit flooding and cooking incidents; automatically turn on lights when required, and rather cleverly, turn on the en-suite light when the owner gets out of bed, and vice versa!

The system can be programmed to alert the care staff in the event that an owner does not return to bed within a certain predetermined time, meaning of course that if a fall occurs during the night, care staff are automatically called.

The specification and finish of the house is extremely high, and not dissimilar to other high quality mainstream housing.

Each home has two bedrooms, a private parking space and garden area. The accommodation comprises approx 90 square metres.

The owners of the homes will also be able to avail themselves of many of the facilities and services available in the care centre.

For example the swimming pool; residents bar; entertainment; parties; private dining; care assistance bathing and much more.

These properties provide a holistic solution to modern day living in style and safety for the middle aged and retired population.

All in all this is a truly spectacular development, and worthy of its five star status.

It provides quality in a care setting not previously seen in Scotland before, and Argus is rightly very proud of the concept and the finished article.

Argus is also currently building a similar development in Dunoon, with stunning views over the Firth of Clyde.
