Lynn of Lorne Participation Policy : Statement of Intent

• To treat everyone with dignity, provacy, and respect.
• To treat everyone as an individual.
• That we value everyone's opinion, staff, resident's relatives and resident's representatives in all aspects of their care and management.
• That each individual feels their opinion is valued including key workers and carers.
• That residents who have communication difficulties have their voices heard.
• That everyone respects each others rights to confidentiality.

We will involve residents and their relatives and their representatives by;

• All residents will have an individual welcome pack identifying their named nurse and key worker.
• Residents will have access to advocacy support if required.
• Residents, their relatives and representatives will be asked to complete questionnaires, and feedback and action points will be displayed on the residents and relatives notice board.
• Residents will be involved in the recruitment of new staff and will be part of the evaluation process at the end of staffs three month probationary period.
• Residents will be kept informed of activites and events in the home through weekly diaries and monthly newsletters.
• Residents will be given the choice of design for the redecorations of their room.
• Residents' choices will be reflected through their personal care plan.
• Menus and food discussion will take place through cooks meetings and a quarterly review of the menus.
• Identifying various community groups, volunteers and friends who will form a link with the Lynn.
