Lynn of Lorne Participation Policy : Statement of Intent

To treat everyone with dignity, provacy, and respect.

To treat everyone as an individual.

That we value everyone's opinion, staff, resident's relatives and resident's representatives in all aspects of their care and management.

That each individual feels their opinion is valued including key workers and carers.

That residents who have communication difficulties have their voices heard.

That everyone respects each others rights to confidentiality.

We will involve residents and their relatives and their representatives by;

All residents will have an individual welcome pack identifying their named nurse and key worker.

Residents will have access to advocacy support if required.

Residents, their relatives and representatives will be asked to complete questionnaires, and feedback and action points will be displayed on the residents and relatives notice board.

Residents will be involved in the recruitment of new staff and will be part of the evaluation process at the end of staffs three month probationary period.

Residents will be kept informed of activites and events in the home through weekly diaries and monthly newsletters.

Residents will be given the choice of design for the redecorations of their room.

Residents' choices will be reflected through their personal care plan.

Menus and food discussion will take place through cooks meetings and a quarterly review of the menus.

Identifying various community groups, volunteers and friends who will form a link with the Lynn.
